Nick Adams (born August 7, 1948 in Braunton ) is a former British racing driver .

Racing career

After the early years that Nick Adams spent in sports car club races , his international career began in 1980 in the British Formula Atlantic Championship , which he finished in tenth overall (Champion David Leslie ). After another year in this racing series, he did not return to the race track until 1985.

From 1985 Adams competed almost exclusively in sports car and GT races. He drove in the sports car world championship and made his debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans that same year . Up until 1995 he had competed nine times in the 24-hour race in western France. It wasn't until his last outing that he managed to finish. Together with Richard Jones and Gérard MacQuillan , he drove a Porsche 911 GT2 to 17th place overall. The best place in the sports car world championship was the 6th final place in the 1000 km race in Suzuka in 1992 , driven out with teammate Ferdinand de Lesseps on a Spice SE89C .

After the end of the world championship in 1992 , Adams moved his activities to British GT series. In 2005 he finished seventh overall in the GT3 class of the British GT Championship . His professional career ended with the end of the 2006 season. In 2014, he started with historic motorsport, where he still competes with a Lola T70 Mk.I Spyder and a Ferguson P99 .
