Map of Nukutepipi |
Nukutepipi (also Nukutipipi , old name: Margaret Island ) is a small, uninhabited atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago in the Pacific Ocean . Politically, it belongs to French Polynesia and is assigned to the municipality of Hao , and in it to the sub-municipality ( commune associée ) Héréhérétué .
Nukutepipi is located about 30 km southeast of the neighboring atoll Anuanurunga and is thus the southeasternmost atoll of the group of the Îles du Duc de Gloucester . Nukutepipi is a slightly elliptical atoll with a largely closed fringing reef , on which small motus rest in the east and north . The land area is around 0.6 km², that of the lagoon around 1.3 km². There is a runway on the eastern motu.
