The 1952 season of the Primera División was the 49th season (the 21st of the professional era) of the Uruguayan top division in men's football , the Primera División .

The Primera División consisted of ten clubs in the championship season of 1952, whose teams met twice in a total of 90 championship games. There were 18 game days. The championship was won by Nacional Montevideo . The "Bolsos" prevailed in the championship final game on February 25, 1953 against Club Atlético Peñarol after the two clubs had to share the lead in the final table with equal points. As the bottom of the table Sud América rose from the Primera División to the Segunda División . The top scorer was Jorge Enrico with 15 goals .
