Radar is a song by American pop - singer Britney Spears , the first on her fifth studio album Blackout was released and on their sixth studio album Circus was republished as a bonus track. It was produced by Bloodshy & Avant and The Clutch.

background

The electro-pop number first appeared on Spears' fifth studio album, Blackout , in 2007 . It was originally planned to release the single as the fourth and final single from this album. However, the publication was deleted. The record company gave the reason that the blackout era was over.

Even so, Radar was broadcast to many radio stations for Blackout marketing purposes , including Australia , Great Britain , Poland , Sweden , Finland , New Zealand, and Ireland . The song grew in popularity and was able to chart in some countries thanks to radio airplay and strong digital sales, albeit with no official release. The single reached number 8 in Sweden and number 59 in Australia.

In 2008, Radar appeared as a bonus track on the track list of Spears' sixth studio album, Circus , and was surprisingly announced as the fourth single. On June 23, 2009, the single was broadcast on US radio stations. Digital sales of the song then increased, so that the single was placed at # 88 on the US Billboard Hot 100 . Radar has sold more than 370,000 copies since 2007, making it Spears' first single not to go gold since the single Gimme More .

The video clip for the single was shot by Dave Meyers on May 27th and 28th, 2009 in Santa Barbara and premiered on July 2nd, 2009 on Spears' official website.

In Australia, the single was able to celebrate its re-entry at number 46 after being in the charts in 2008. The single reached number 32 in Ireland and New Zealand and 65 in Canada.

The originally planned worldwide release of Radar was, however , discarded , as in the previous year with Blackout . In Great Britain, for example, the single was only able to position itself in 46th position through digital sales.
