Outrageous ( English for "outrageous") is a song by the American singer Britney Spears from her fourth album In the Zone . It was written by Robert S. Kelly and produced by him, Trixster, and Penelope Magnet . The song was released on July 20, 2004 as the fourth single from the album by Jive Records .

background

Outrageous was supposed to be released as the first single from In the Zone at the request of the record company . Spears, on the other hand, wanted to release Me Against the Music , a collaboration with Madonna , as the first single on the album and thus prevailed. Because the song was to be included in the Catwoman soundtrack , Outrageous was released as the fourth single after Me Against the Music , Toxic and Everytime .

Music video and accident

The music video for Outrageous was made by Dave Meyers , who had previously worked with Spears on the videos for Lucky and Boys . It was filmed at locations in Queens and Manhattan . After completing the scenes with guest star Snoop Dogg , Spears shot more scenes in Manhattan. While filming there, Spears fell and injured his left knee. The following day she underwent an operation and had to pause for six weeks, which resulted in the abandonment of filming, the contribution to the soundtrack for Catwoman and her ongoing The Onyx Hotel tour . A 45-second long music video consisting of individual clips from the day of shooting was released in 2004 on the DVD version of the album Greatest Hits: My Prerogative .
