Overprotected (. English for: " Overly protected ") is a dance-pop song can the American pop - singer Britney Spears made her third studio album Britney . In Great Britain the song was released by Jive Records as the second, in the USA as the third single from the album. In the German-speaking area appeared Overprotected not as an official single.

Overprotected was written and produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoup . However, the Darkchild remix of the song was produced by Rodney Jerkins . In Europe , the original version was released in North America the Darkchild Remix . Two different music videos were produced for this purpose. Spears said of the song:
“This is a song that I can relate to myself. There are moments for me too when I feel overprotected. If I want to go out, everything has to be organized in advance. I think that other teenagers my age can relate to the content of the song to some extent. "
In 2003 Overprotected was nominated at the Grammy Awards in the category "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance".
Chart placements
The Darkchild Remix peaked at number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single became a hit in Chile , Argentina and Mexico . The original version of the song was placed in the top 10 in several European countries, including Belgium , Finland , Sweden , Norway , Ireland and Great Britain.
