Single releases
Oops! ... I did it again
Oops! ... I Did It Again was the first single from the album and was released two weeks before it. The music video for the album's title track was filmed by Nigel Dick and shows Britney Spears in a red catsuit . It was shot at Universal Studios in California. The song earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and several others at the MTV Video Music Awards . The single sold over 5,995,000 copies worldwide in 2000, making it the third most successful single ever that year.
Lucky
The ballad Lucky followed in August 2000 as a second single . With the song, the singer was able to land her second number one hit in Germany and Austria, as well as her third in Switzerland.
Stronger
The third single, Stronger, followed in November / December. The single was also written and produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub, who were used for Spears' debut single or Oops! ... I Did It Again . Many fans and critics see Stronger as the unofficial sequel to ... Baby One More Time , as Spears sings in the chorus of her debut single: " ... my loneliness is killing me ... " (English for: "... my loneliness is killing me ..."), while in Stronger it says " ... my loneliness ain't killing me no more ... " (English for: "... my loneliness doesn't kill me anymore ...").
Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know
Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know was finally released in March 2001 as the fourth and final single from the album. The song was written by Shania Twain , among others . It was Spears' first single that did not reach the top ten in Germany because it "only" entered at number 12. The song couldn't convince around the world as well as its commercially very successful predecessor singles. With the accompanying video clip, Spears provided a topic of conversation, as she presented herself very freely for the first time, for example in a bikini top and hot pants .
