Shattered Glass (. English for " broken glass ") is a song by American pop - singer Britney Spears from her sixth studio album Circus . Without an official release, the song debuted at number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 .

The song was written by Lukasz “Dr. Luke “Gottwald , Claude Kelly and Benjamin“ Benny Blanco ”Levin for Britney Spears' sixth studio album Circus . It was produced by Gottwald and Levin. It's the fifth song on the album. The background vocals were done by Claude Kelly and Windy Wagner.
Music style and reception
Musically it is an up-tempo pop song with guitar riffs. The vocals are distorted in the stanzas and melodious and clear in the chorus. The text is about fleeting teenage love between longing, betrayal and abandonment.
ABC News ' Allan Raible described the track as a weak song that appears to have been produced on an assembly line. The robot voice in particular is reminiscent of the previous album Blackout , with Spears vocal performance on the track appearing most vividly compared to the rest of the album.
Chart placements
In the course of the Circus release, several songs on the album, including Shattered Glass , made their way into the US and Canadian Billboard charts. On December 20, 2008, the song entered the US Billboard Hot 100 at number 70 and also reached number 29 on the Billboard Digital Songs and number 57 on the Billboard Pop 100 . In Canada, Shattered Glass reached # 75 on the Canadian Hot 100 and # 36 on Canadian Digital Songs.
