From the Bottom of My Broken Heart was written and produced by Eric Foster White. It is a pop - ballad , it is again from Spears first love and she wants that love would never end. She describes her emotions as " from the bottom of my broken heart ".

Music video

The music video was directed by Gregory Dark . It was shot in late November 1999. At the beginning of the video, Spears plans to leave her small hometown.
