Life

After graduating from school, Casaro began training as a graphic designer. At the age of 17 he received his first orders for cinema facade decoration in exchange for free entry. When he was 19, he completed a one-year traineeship at Atelier Favalli in Rome.

At the age of 21 he opened his own studio in Rome, making him the youngest independent film illustrator. He designed his first movie poster in 1956 for the German film Two Blue Eyes . He already had great success in the era of the Italian colossal films at the end of the 50s.

In 1965 Casaro achieved his international breakthrough with the worldwide distribution of the poster for the Dion de Laurentiis production The Bible and, for the first time, a large advertising space on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Close collaboration with Sergio Leone - posters for films such as For a Fistful of Dollars or Once Upon a Time in America become classics. The posters for the Terence Hill / Bud Spencer film cycle are cult.

From 1979 numerous exhibitions and awards (see below).

In 1985 Casaro received a teaching position at the private Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome . Since then he has also made regular study trips to the west of the United States to work on the painting cycle “Going West” and to African countries to observe animals for his paintings “African Impressions”. Casaro has been working on the series “Painted Movies” since 1988.

1992 Casaro was a retrospective entitled "30 Years of Life in Pictures" in the Pinakothek of Pinerolo issue (province of Turin).

For Quentin Tarantino he designed several Italian movie posters with Rick Dalton ( Leonardo DiCaprio ), which were used in the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).
