The ring wall Schanze (Eispertshofen) Buchenberg is located in a forest approx. 600 m east of the district Eispertshofen of the Upper Palatinate community of Pilsach in the district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate . The prehistoric ring wall is located north of the Pilsach valley in the Schanze hall and to the west above the sources of the Pilsach, the prince and cat fountain.

description

The high-altitude castle is located on a wide mountain spur above the Pilsach. The wall encloses an area of about 130 m east-west length and 82 to 100 m north-south width. The wall is 2 m high on the inside and 3 m on the outside and up to 18 m wide. It can be assumed that it has a wall core. On the steep slope in the east above the Pilsach, he stops a bit. At the highest point in the north-west there is a slightly trapezoidal extension measuring 16 × 15 m; Openings lead from this extension into the interior of the facility. The interior is divided into three roughly equal parts by pieces of rampart in which one can assume that the walls have fallen. A gate to the outside, however, is missing.

In recent times the hill has been used as a training area for horses. The ski jump is located on the rock and cross hiking trail through the Pilsachtal.
