Schdanki ( Russian Жданки , German Tilszenehlen , 1936 to 1938 Tilschenehlen , 1938 to 1946 source grounds , also: Pellehnen , 1938 to 1946 Dreidorf ( Eastern Pr.) , Lithuanian Tilženėliai , also: Pelėnai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Neman in Nemansky District .
Geographical location
Shdanki is nine kilometers from the district town of Neman (Ragnit) on the regional road 27K-033 (ex A198 ). The next train station was the northern Krasnoye Selo (Klapaten / Angerwiese) on the Tilsit – Stallupönen (Russian: Sowetsk – Nesterow) railway line, which is no longer used for passenger traffic .

Tilszenehlen / Tilschenehlen (source grounds)
The small village, named Tilsenehlen after 1736, consisted of scattered small farms and farmsteads before 1945. In 1874, the village in the newly built was District Pucknen (Russian: no longer Luganskoje existent) incorporated, which until 1922 the county Ragnit , then to 1945 for the district Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.
In 1910 Tilszenehlen had 145 inhabitants, in 1933 there were 128 and in 1939 only 98.
On June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - of the year 1938, the so-called "Tilschenehlen", which has been known since 1936, was renamed to "Quelle reasons" for political and ideological reasons to avoid foreign-sounding place names. In 1945 the place was assigned to the Soviet Union as a result of the war with northern East Prussia .
Pellehnen (Dreidorf)
The village of Pellehnen , which originally belonged to the district of Ragnit , was formed from a few large farms before 1945. Between 1874 and 1945 the village was part of the administrative district Titschken that from 1922 to the district Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.
In 1910 91 people lived in Pellehnen. Their number rose to 159 by 1933 and was 132 in 1939. Seven years after the village was renamed "Dreidorf (Ostpr.)" In 1938, it became part of the Soviet Union .
There the place was not renamed again and, according to the maps, initially belonged to Podgorny (Titschken) before it was connected to Schdanki.
Shdanki
The place Tilszenehlen was renamed in 1947 in "Shdanki" and at the same time classified in the village soviet Malomoshaiski selski Sowet in Sovetsk Raion . Later the place got into the Rakitinski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2016 Shdanki belonged to the urban municipality of Nemanskoje gorodskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Neman.

The population in Tilszenehlen / Tilschnehlen resp. Sources as well as Pellehnen resp. Before 1945 Dreidorf was almost without exception a Protestant denomination. While Tilszenehlen was a parish in the parish of the Lengwethen church (the place was called between 1938 and 1946: Hohensalzburg, today Russian: Lunino), Pellehnen belonged to the Ragnit (Neman) church. Both were part of the Ragnit diocese in the church district of Tilsit-Ragnit within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Shdanki is located in the extensive catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Sabrodino (Lesgewangminnen , 1938 to 1946 Lesgewangen) , which was founded in the 1990s and belongs to the Kaliningrad (Königsberg) provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
