Gorino ( Russian Горино , until about 2003 Garino , German  Ober Eißeln , 1938 to 1945 Obereißeln , also: Mattischken , 1938 to 1945 Klingsporn , Lithuanian Eisuliai , also Matiškiai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and belongs to the municipal self-government unit Stadtkreis Neman im Neman Raion .

Geographical location

Gorino is six kilometers east of the town of Neman (Ragnit) on the regional road 27A-025 (ex R508 ) in the direction of Krasnosnamensk (Lasdehnen / Haselberg) . In town, a side road branches off to Bolschoje Selo (Unter Eißeln) . There is no train connection.

history

The village once called Ober Eißeln is one of the oldest settlements in the Tilsit-Ragnit district and was one of the four model villages in the district. A jug is documented for 1629 , and the Ober Eißeln estate already existed . A Prussian cult site existed here in the pre-order period . Until 1945 the place consisted of several small farms in addition to the estate.

Between 1874 and 1945 was chief Eißeln seat and thus its name to a District , which until 1922 the county Ragnit , then - named in 1939 "District Obereißeln" - the district Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.

In 1910 Ober Eißeln had 381 inhabitants. On September 30, 1928, the rural community expanded to include the Karlsberg manor district, which was incorporated. The population of the village rose to 428 by 1933 and - from 1938 referred to as "Obereißeln" - was 404 in 1939.

Mattischken (Klingsporn) / Schurawlewo

The place Mattischken consisted of several large and small courtyards, which came when the districts were formed in 1874 as a rural community in the district of Tischken . It belonged to 1922 the county Ragnit , then to the district of Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1910 190 inhabitants were registered in Mattischken. Their number was 133 in 1933 and 125 in 1939. In the meantime, in 1938 the place had been renamed "Klingsporn".

Like all villages in northern East Prussia , the place was assigned to the Soviet Union in 1945. In 1950 he was given the Russian name "Shuravlevo" and was simultaneously incorporated into the Bolshesselsky village soviet in Sovetsk Raion .

Garino / Gorino

In 1950 Ober Eißeln was given the Russian name "Garino". At the same time, the village was incorporated into the Bolshesselski selski Sowet in the Sovetsk Raion , whose administrative seat Garino himself took over before 1967. As early as 1947, the place Karlsberg was renamed again independently in "Korobowo" and was also classified in the Bolschesselski selski Sowet. Before 1976, Korobowo was (again) connected to Garino. Around 1990 the place Schurawlewo was attached to Garino. Around 2003 Garino was renamed Gorino. From 2008 to 2016 the place belonged to the urban municipality Nemanskoje gorodskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district Neman.

Bismarck Tower

It was the senior president and later district administrator, Count Georg von Lambsdorff , who suggested the construction of the Bismarck tower ( Russian Башня Бисмарка ) as a viewing tower with a fire bowl for Ober Eißeln . The construction was planned as early as 1899. Located to the north of the village, the building was designed by the master builder Schaffenhauer from Wetzlar by the district architect Ewermann from Ragnit. The building could only be inaugurated on August 17, 1912. After 1945 it fell into disrepair. Today there are still ruins.

With its predominantly Protestant population, Ober Eißeln resp. Obereißeln parish until 1945 in the parish of the church in Ragnit .
