Geographical location

Watutino is located in the very south of the Rajon Neman, 18 kilometers southwest of the district town of Neman (Ragnit) and three kilometers south of Schilino (Szillen) on the municipal road 27K-069 from Schilino to Uljanowo (Kraupischken / Breitenstein) . The next train station is Schilino on the currently inoperative Chernyakhovsk – Sovetsk (Insterburg – Tilsit) railway .

The former Gaidszen called village was 1874 to 1945 in the District Szillen incorporated (in 1939 "District Schillen") that until 1922 the county Ragnit , then to the district of Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.
