church

While the former Sandlauken (Sandfelde) belonged to the parish of the Jurgaitschen Church (1938–46 Königskirch , since 1946 Russian: Kanasch ) before 1945 , Bublauken (1938–46 Argenfurt ) and Willkischken were incorporated into the parish of Neu Argeningken (Argenbrück) . The former parish church still stands in today's Novokolchosnoje settlement.

Church building

The massive church stands at the northeastern exit of Nowokolchosnojes on a hill, about 30 meters from the highway A 216 ( map ). It is a plastered brick building reminiscent of baroque churches with a western onion dome .

The church was built in the first years of the 20th century and consecrated on April 21, 1910. The interior was originally vaulted. Opposite the pulpit altar was the organ gallery. The organ and the three bells date from the time the church was built.

The upper part of the church tower was shot down by Red Army troops in 1945 and has remained in this condition to this day. In the following years, the benches were moved to Sovetsk (Tilsit) , where they served as seating for participants in sporting events. The organ and the bells were smashed.

Today the church is a poorly preserved building with walled-up windows and a newly-covered asbestos-cement panel roof. In 1994 it was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church , but is not used for church purposes.

Parish

The places of the later parish Neu Argeningken belonged to Heinrichswalde (Russian: Slavsk) and also to Tilsit (Sowetsk). As early as 1897, the plan arose to set up a separate office for Neu Argeningken. It was founded in 1902, and a year later the construction of the church began, which was inaugurated in 1910. Until 1945 the parish belonged to the Tilsit diocese in the Tilsit-Ragnit parish within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Nowokolchosnoje is located in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Slavsk (Heinrichswalde) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
