Ignatowo ( Russian Игнатово , German Gaistauden , Lithuanian Gaištautai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and belongs to the municipal self-government unit urban district Neman in the Rajon Neman .
Geographical location
Ignatowo is located 17 kilometers southeast of the district town of Neman (Ragnit) on the municipal road 27K-051, which connects Malomoschaiskoje (Budwethen / Altenkirch) with Kalatschejewo (Augskallen / Güldenflur) . The next train station was until 1945 Naujeningken / Neusiedel on the now no longer operated Tilsit – Stallupönen / Ebenrode railway line .

Before 1945, Gaistauden consisted of a few large farms. Between 1874 and 1945 the site was in the District Budwethen - he was called in 1939 "the district of Old Church" - integrated, the to 1922 for county Ragnit , then to the district of Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.
As a result of the war, Gaistauden came to the Soviet Union in 1945 with all of northern East Prussia . The majority of the population of Gaistauden before 1945 were of Protestant denomination. The village was in the parish of the Budwethen Church (the place was called between 1938 and 1946: Altenkirch, today in Russian: Malomoschaiskoje), which belonged to the Ragnit diocese in the Tilsit-Ragnit church district within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Ignatowo is in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Sabrodino (Lesgwangminnen , 1938 to 1946 Lesgewangen) , which was founded in the 1990s and is part of the Kaliningrad (Königsberg) provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
