Puschkino ( Russian Пушкино , German  Bruiszen , also: Bruißen , 1936 to 1938 Bruischen , 1938 to 1945 Lindenbruch , Lithuanian Bruišiai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and belongs to the municipal self-government unit urban district Neman in the Rajon Neman .

Geographical location

Pushkino is located eleven kilometers southwest of the district town of Neman (Ragnit) , west of the municipal road 27K-067 from Neman to Schilino (Szillen) and east of the currently inoperative railway line Chernyakhovsk – Sowetsk (Insterburg – Tilsit) , to which Schilino is the nearest train station.

history

The village formerly called Bruiszen was integrated into the district of Sommerau between 1874 and 1945 (the place is now called in Russian: Sagorskoje). Until 1922 he belonged to the district of Ragnit , then to the district of Tilsit-Ragnit in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

On September 17, 1936, the spelling of the place name from Bruiszen was changed to "Bruischen". On June 3, 1938 - with official confirmation of July 16 - this name was changed to "Lindenbruch" for political and ideological reasons to avoid foreign-sounding place names.

After the village came to the Soviet Union in the wake of the war with northern East Prussia , it was given the Russian name "Pushkino" in 1950 and was at the same time classified in the village soviet Schilinski selski Sowet in the sovetsk district . From 2008 to 2016 the place belonged to the rural municipality of Shilinskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Neman.
