Neuhaus Castle (Selbitz)
The Neuhaus Castle is a castle in the village of Neuhaus of Selbitz .
history
It is a late medieval palace that was built in 1427/28 by the Lords of Reitzenstein to replace the Rodesgrün Castle, which was destroyed in 1382 and not rebuilt . The castle belonged to the Vogtland knighthood . As a margravial fiefdom, it belonged to the von der Grün , Waldenfels and Beulwitz families . During the last third of the 19th century and from 1910 to 1912 renovations took place. The castle is privately owned, the last change of ownership was in 1999 and 2013.
There is an octagonal tower at the southwest corner; Of the former ring moat, only a longer piece with an outer wall is preserved on the northeast side.
