The Schwingetal is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Bremervörde in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 308 is around 40  hectares in size. It is part of the FFH area of ​​the same name designated in 2004 . To the east it borders on the " Schwingetal " landscape protection area in the Stade district and to the south on the "Schwinge und Nebentäler" landscape protection area. The area has been under nature protection since January 16, 2017. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Rotenburg (Wümme) district.

The nature reserve lies between Bremervörde and Stade in the Zevener Geest . It places part of the upper Schwingetal under protection, which is characterized by mowing grassland of varying intensity of use and degrees of moisture on drained raised bog soils as well as a peat forest complex . The swing , which marks the border with the district of Stade, runs in the southeast .

The swing is accompanied by reed beds , sedges and tall herbaceous meadows. In the course of the stream there is partially flooding aquatic vegetation . In the nature reserve u. a. Common sedge , blackhead sedge and lawn sedge , winter horsetail , groundwort , marsh marigold and king fern . The wing is the habitat of the otter and in the area of ​​the nature reserve a potential habitat for river , brook and sea ​​lamprey as well as salmon , all of which are found in the wing, but have no significant occurrence in the area of ​​the nature reserve. The nature reserve is a potential habitat for various meadow birds such as lapwing , black godwit and common snipe . The bog forest is primarily formed by downy birch and Scots pine . Sand birch , mountain ash and black alder, as well as buckthorn , ear willow and gagel join in .

The nature reserve borders in the northeast on a forest area as part of the FFH area "Schwingetal". To the southeast, further grassland , which is also within the FFH area, borders the nature reserve. To the west and south, mostly intensely used grassland lying outside the FFH area borders the nature reserve. In the south, a farm road crosses the nature reserve.
