The Shōnan Shinjuku Line ( Japanese 湘南 新宿 ラ イ ン , Shōnan Shinjuku Rain from English Shōnan Shinjuku Line ) is a railway line of the JR East in the Japanese prefectures of Tokyo and Kanagawa . It is not an independent railway line , but consists of the railway lines of the Takasaki Line and the Utsunomiya Line in the north and the Tōkaidō Main Line and the Yokosuka Line in the south. Hence the line splits twice. Once in the north from the Ōmiya stop and once in the south at the Ōfuna stop . The Tohoku Main Line, Yamanote Freight Line and Yokosuka Line trains follow between these two stops.
