history

A chapel built in 1764 was expanded in 1873/74 and 1892. After the establishment of its own rectorate in 1954 and the resulting expansion of the area, there was no longer enough space in the chapel. According to the construction plans of architect Heinz Tillmanns from Erkelenz , it was decided to build a new church. The chapel was demolished on June 17, 1957. The solemn consecration of the new church was on August 30, 1959.

architecture

The hall church is a brick building facing north-south . The chancel is slightly curved and, like the church, has a flat wooden ceiling. On the left side of the chancel is the sacristy , followed by the four-sided tower with a high pyramid as a helmet .
