Timashevsk ( Russian Тимашевск even Timaschowsk , Тимашёвск ) is a town with 53,924 inhabitants (14 October 2010) in the Krasnodar region in Russia . It is located on the Kirpili River , 68 km from the capital of the Kuban region of Krasnodar .
history
The place was founded in 1794 when a Cossack settlement called Timaschowski Kuren was founded on the bank of the Kirpili River . The name comes from the Saporoger Sitsch . In 1861, the Russian government approved the settlement of non- Cossack farmers . Over the next few decades, new infrastructure was built in the village: the first school was set up in 1874, a post and telegraph office opened in 1912, and a hospital with 12 beds and six employees began its work in 1924.
In 1943 the settlement was occupied by German armed forces during World War II and completely burned down when the troops withdrew.
On December 30, 1966, the settlement received city status and the name Timashevsk .

The city's most important industrial plants are an asphalt plant, a brick factory, a Tetra Pak plant and several food factories, including a dairy that belongs to the Russian food company Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods .
