Trentino (wine)
Wines that are sold with the name Trentino have had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1971 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

The following types of wine are produced:
- Trentino bianco: at least 80% Chardonnay and / or Pinot bianco and a maximum of 20% Sauvignon Blanc , Müller-Thurgau , Manzoni Bianco
- Trentino rosso: Cabernet Franc and / or Cabernet Sauvignon and / or Carmenère , individually or together, and Merlot
- Trentino Kretzer or Trentino rosato: Enantio and / or Vernatsch and / or Teroldego and / or Lagrein , at least in pairs, each in a proportion of at most 70%.
With the indication of the grape variety, the following wines are placed on the market if they consist of at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned. A maximum of 15% of other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the province of Trento may be added (with the exception of Goldmuskateller , Rosenmuskateller and Gewürztraminer ):

A wine with the name Trentino Vino Santo must be made from at least 85% Nosiola grapes and have at least 16 % alcohol by volume . The wine can be sold no earlier than November 1st of the third year following the harvest.

The cultivation is approved in the Autonomous Province of Trento in the following municipalities: Ala , Albiano , Aldeno , Arco , Avio , Besenello , Bleggio Inferiore, Bleggio Superiore , Brentonico , Caldonazzo , Calliano , Castelnuovo , Carzano , Cavedine , Cembra Lisignago , Cimone, Civezzano , Drena , Dro , Faedo , Altavalle , Garniga Terme , Giovo , Ivano-Fracena , Madruzzo , Lavis , Mezzocorona , Mezzolombardo , Mori , Nago-Torbole , Nave San Rocco , Nogaredo , Nomi , Novaledo , Ospedaletto , Padergnone , Pergine Valsugana , Pomarolo , Riva del Garda , Roncegno , Roverè della Luna , Rovereto , San Michele all'Adige , Scurelle , Segonzano , Stenico , Storo , Telve , Telve di Sopra , Tenna , Tenno , Ton , Trambileno , Trento , Valda , Vallarsa , Vezzano , Castel Ivano , Villa Lagarina , Volano and Zambana .
In 2016, 619,798 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced from 7141 hectares of vineyards.
