The Heimeranplatz is an urban space in the center of Munich city part Westend. It is one of the transport hubs in the district. Under the place running without crossing the middle ring through.

Surname
The name refers to Heimeran (also Heinrich) von Straubing, whereby Heimeran is the Old High German original form of the Latinized male name Emmeram . Heimeran was a carpenter at the Frauenkirche in Munich from 1470 to 1478 .
Road traffic
A section of the Mittlerer Ring runs under Heimeranplatz. Here Garmischer Strasse turns into Trappentreustrasse , which continues through the Trappentreutunnel to the Donnersbergerbrücke . The square is connected to the Mittlerer Ring with its own entrance and exit.
Ridlerstraße runs across the Mittlerer Ring and connects the Westend with the district 6 Sendling further south . The above-ground part of Trappentreustraße and Heimeranstraße open up the Schwanthalerhöhe district from Heimeranplatz.
Rail transport
In the Heimeranplatz area there are seven tracks with three platform edges. The station is served by the Munich S-Bahn with the lines S7 (from Wolfratshausen to Kreuzstraße ) and S20 (from Munich-Pasing to Höllriegelskreuth ), as well as by the regional trains of the Meridian . The line S27 from Munich main station to Deisenhofen on Heimeranplatz stopped here until December 14, 2013, and its services were taken over by Meridian. To the south of Heimeranplatz, the tracks of the so-called Südring of Deutsche Bahn in the direction of the Ostbahnhof separate from the tracks of the S-Bahn in the direction of Harras / Solln . The Munich U-Bahn serves Heimeranplatz station with the U4 and U5 lines . The connection between the underground and the S-Bahn makes the station an important transfer station.
