Film adaptations of works by Goethe

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Many of the works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832) have been filmed several times. Some films are based closely on the work template, e.g. B. Faust (1960) . Fantasia from 1960 only takes up the story of the sorcerer's apprentice in one scene. Other films are only loosely based on motifs from Goethe's works, e.g. B. Black Fox: The True Story of Adolf Hitler : The film intertwines the fable Reineke Fuchs (Goethe) by Johann Wolfgang Goethe with the life of the German dictator Adolf Hitler.

The Faust material was filmed relatively often, although Goethe's text is not always the model, cf. Film adaptations of the fist material . Based on Goethe's Faust are z. B.
