World 14.1 Tournament 2014

The World 14.1 Tournament 2014 was a pool tournament in discipline 14 and 1 endless . It took place August 4-9, 2014 in the Astoria neighborhood of New York and was hosted by Dragon Promotion .

The Englishman Darren Appleton won the tournament with a 200:27 final victory over the American Shane van Boening .

Defending champion Thorsten Hohmann was eliminated in the second round against Filipino Warren Kiamco .

mode

Group stage

The 64 participating players were divided into eight groups of eight players each. Each player played once against each player in his group. Whoever reached 100 points first, won the game. The four best placed in each group then advanced to the next round.

Knockout phase

The 32 players remaining after the group stage then competed against each other in a double knockout system . The game length has been increased from 100 to 150. The then remaining 16 players finally played against each other with a goal of 200 points in the knockout system .
