history

The constituency was number 7 of the Lower Saxony constituencies in the 1949 federal election. Then he received the nationwide constituency number 29. For the federal elections from 1965 to 1998 he was given the number 23, from 2002 to 2009 the number 29 and for the 2013 election the number 28. In the federal elections from 1949 to 1983, the constituency was called Delmenhorst - Wesermarsch .

Originally, as today, the constituency comprised the area of the city of Delmenhorst and the Wesermarsch district. From the district of Oldenburg, only the communities Dötlingen , Ganderkesee , Hasbergen , Hude , Schönemoor , Stuhr and Wildeshausen belonged to the constituency of Delmenhorst-Wesermarsch and the other communities of the district of Oldenburg to the constituency of Oldenburg - Ammerland . Before the federal election in 1976, the area of the former municipality of Wüsting , which was incorporated into the municipality of Hude on July 1, 1972, was added. In the course of the reorganization of the constituencies before the federal election in 1980, the entire area of the district of Oldenburg was finally added to the constituency of Delmenhorst - Wesermarsch, which then received its current name before the federal election in 1987.
