The federal constituency of Karlsruhe-Land (2005: constituency 273, 2009: constituency 272) is an electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . It includes the southern part of the Karlsruhe district with the cities and communities Bretten , Dettenheim , Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen , Ettlingen , Gondelsheim , Graben-Neudorf , Karlsbad , Kraichtal , Kürnbach , Linkenheim-Hochstetten , Malsch , Marxzell , Oberderdingen , Pfinztal , Rheinstetten , Stutensee , Sulzfeld , Waldbronn , Walzbachtal , Weingarten (Baden) and Zaisenhausen . The north and south of the constituency are only connected by a 35 meter wide strip of land . Since 1949, the constituency has always been won by the direct candidates of the CDU .
In the last federal election, 209,732 residents were eligible to vote.
