DFB League Cup 2002
The 2002 DFB League Cup was the seventh edition of the competition. Participants were the first six teams of the previous Bundesliga season , including DFB Cup winners Schalke 04. There was a new edition of the 2001 finals in Hertha BSC when it took part in the finals for the third time in a row, winning its title with the identical result of 4-1 against FC Schalke 04 defended in the final in Bochum. The best goal scorers of the competition were Alex Alves and Marcelinho from Hertha BSC with three goals each.
