The Egolfinger, who were the ministerials of the Counts of Andechs , died out in the middle of the 13th century and from the 15th century Obereglfing was owned by various noble families whose "castle" stood in today's Hofgasse until 1663. In the so-called "Russian Era", from the 18th century onwards, there was a brisk trade with Russia through emigrants, with trading and exchange houses in Moscow and St. Petersburg .

It belonged to the Munich Rent Office and the Weilheim district court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , the municipality of Eglfing, which belonged to the Weilheim district court , was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
