Ekstraliga (chess) 2017

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ekstraliga (chess) 2017 was the 16th edition of the Ekstraliga and the 73rd Polish team championship in chess . The champion was the defending champion WASKO HETMAN Katowice, three teams were promoted from the I league last year through the withdrawal of Baszta MOS Żnin with WKSz Kopernik Wrocław, UKS Hetman Częstochowa and KSz Silesia JAS-FBG Racibórz. Purely athletic WKSz Kopernik Wrocław and Częstochowa achieved relegation, while Racibórz together with SzSON Zagłębie Dąbrowa Górnicza had to relegate directly, but WKSz Kopernik Wrocław withdrew his team after the season.

For the team squad, see Ekstraliga (chess) 2017 team squad .

mode

The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and will be replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).

The first three rounds were played from May 5th to 7th in the public voivodship and city library in memory of Zbigniew Herbert ( Wojewódzka i Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna im. Zbigniewa Herberta ) in Gorzów Wielkopolski , rounds 4 to 6 were played from May 29th to 7th .
