The FK FC Shinnik Yaroslavl ( Russian Футбольный клуб Шинник Ярославль ; Futbolny club FC Shinnik Yaroslavl ; . Wiss transliteration Futbol'nyj club Šinnik Jaroslavl ' ) is an established in 1957 Russian football club from the city Jaroslawl . The club played in 1992, from 1997 to 1999, from 2002 to 2006 and 2008 in the Premjer League .

history

Soviet championship

The association was founded in 1957 under the name Chimik , Russian Химик = chemist . In 1960 the name was changed to Schinnik, a derivation from Schina = tire. A first major sporting success was the promotion to the Wysschaja Liga , the highest league in the Soviet league system, in 1963, but as the penultimate of the 1964 season, the immediate relegation to the second-rate Pervaya League followed. Until the end of the 1980s, Schinnik could not record any further successes, but always remained inferior. While Schinnik was eliminated in the round of 32 of the Soviet Cup in 1988, as in 1990 , the club was in the last 16 of the last Soviet Cup under regular conditions in 1991, where the team, however, unhappy against Lok Moscow , was eliminated after two postponements due to an unplayable place on a neutral pitch .

Russian championship

Also otherwise Schinnik was relatively successful, so that the club qualified for the first season of the created Russian first division, but finished there in the preliminary group B last and in the relegation round as the second worst team.

It was not until 1996 that they were promoted again as runners-up in the second Russian division . In the first year of the first class, the fourth place could be achieved, which qualified for participation in the UEFA Intertoto Cup , but in the 1998 season , the relegation succeeded by only one win, and in 1999 the club was relegated last. In the year of relegation, however, the greatest success in the Russian Cup , reaching the quarter-finals, was achieved.

Since the renewed rise as champions of the second division in 2001, Schinnik remained first class until 2006. In the 2006 season , however, Schinnik showed with only one win out of thirty games by far the worst performance of all Premjer-Liga clubs and therefore had to relegate. Then Sergei Juran was committed as the new head coach with the goal of promotion. This goal was achieved and Schinnik was able to immediately rise again in 2007 as champion of the 1st division. On April 30, 2008, Juran was released. In the 2008 season , he was relegated to the second division again.
