Location of the community Großensee in the Stormarn district

Großensee ( Low German Grotensee ) is a municipality in the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein . Schierholzkate, Pfefferberg and Glashütte are in the municipality.

history

Großensee is first mentioned as a community in 1248. The place is named after the lake of the same name . Since the 16th century Großensee belonged to the old lordly office of Trittau. There it was one of the 17 so-called wooden villages .

After the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia , Großensee became part of the newly founded Stormarn district and, with the introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution in 1889, became part of the Siek district .

At the end of the Second World War , Germany was gradually occupied. At the end of the war, numerous refugees and displaced persons from the eastern regions of the German Reich had fled to Schleswig-Holstein (see Refugees in Schleswig-Holstein after the Second World War ). People also fled to Großensee. As a result, the population of Großensee doubled.

When the district of Lütjensee was founded (from 1948: Amt Lütjensee ), Großensee was assigned to it. When the Lütjensee office was dissolved as part of the local reorganization in 1972, the municipality fell to the Trittau office .

religion

Most of the denominational residents belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Since 1248 the community has belonged to the newly founded parish Trittau . In the 14th century it came to the parish of Siek , in order to receive spiritual care from Trittau again after the Reformation . In 1953 Großensee was separated from the Trittau parish together with Grönwohld and Lütjensee and has been part of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Lütjensee ever since.

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council, the BfG voter community has had nine seats and the CDU four since the 2013 local elections .

On the south bank of the lake of the same name there is a natural beach outdoor pool with a DLRG station. A campsite is located in the immediate vicinity with direct access to the pool.

The HVV ( Hamburger Verkehrsverbund ) operates a bus connection to Rahlstedt and Trittau .

Großensee is connected to the national road network by the federal highway 404 ( Kiel - Lauenburg / Elbe ).
