Enzenreith is located in the industrial district at 420 m above sea level in the Schwarzatal in southern Lower Austria , southeast of Gloggnitz .
The area of ​​the municipality covers 9.23 km², 44.75% of the area is forested.

history

In ancient times, the area was part of the Noricum province . The Germanic-Slavic-Magyar culture of Köttlach is named after a burial ground in Köttlach.

Around 1835 there were 15 houses with 95 inhabitants in Enzenreith.

On January 1, 1968, the municipality of Köttlach was incorporated into Enzenreith, followed by the municipality of Thürmannsdorf on January 1, 1970.

  • Mining and local history museum: In the district of Hart there was a coal deposit that was exploited by the AG Harter Kohlenwerke (seat: Vienna). The mineral Hartite is named after this place . In 1986 a mining and local history museum was opened in the village.
