Hrabovka (Hungarian Szúcsgyertyános - until 1907 Hrabovka ) is a municipality in the north- west of Slovakia with 418 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) and is part of the Trenčín District , part of the kraj Trenčiansky .
geography
The municipality is located in the foothills of the White Carpathian Mountains on an elevation between the Orechovská dolina and Súčanská dolina valleys . The center of the village is located at an altitude of 315 m nm and is seven kilometers from Trenčín .
Neighboring municipalities are Dolná Súča in the north, Skalka nad Váhom in the east, Zamarovce in the south and Trenčín in the south and west.
history
Hrabovka was first mentioned in writing as Hraboka in 1423 . In the late Middle Ages, the surrounding area was part of the estate of the former Súča Castle, which belonged to the overall dominion of Trenčín Castle . In 1598 there were 14 houses in the village, in 1828 there were 46 houses and 354 inhabitants, whose main source of income was agriculture.
Until 1918 the place in Trenčín County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 435 people lived in Hrabovka, including 411 Slovaks . 24 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
363 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 3 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Greek Catholic Church. 34 residents were without a denomination and the denomination was not determined for 34 residents.
