Trenčianska Teplá (Hungarian Hőlak - until 1902 Trencséntepla - older also Tepla ) is a municipality in north-western Slovakia with 4244 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

It is located on the edge of the Strážovské vrchy Mountains in the Waag Valley, about ten kilometers from Trenčín . The village of Dobrá , which was incorporated in 1976, and the district of Príles , which was incorporated in 1910 , also belong to the municipality .

A narrow-gauge railway runs from the place to Trenčianske Teplice . The place is also on the Bratislava – Žilina railway line and has a train station. This also forms the end point of the railway line over the Wlarapass to Moravia (now the Czech Republic).
