The Ilmtal-Radweg (also Ilmradweg ) is a 123 km long cycle path along the Ilm , which leads with low and medium difficulty from Allzunah above the Ilm source to the Ilm estuary in Großheringen and 2 km further to Kaatschen-Weichau an der Saale , with a connection to it the Saale cycle path .
Route profile
The cycle path leads mainly on paved paths away from the main roads. He follows a relatively low-traffic country road for only a few kilometers. It is also suitable for families with children, but is not a beginner's route due to the occasional incline (including in the downstream direction). Pushing may be necessary on very short sections. Most of the sections are passable regardless of the weather, as long as it is frost-free.
