The Italian U-17 national soccer team is a selection team of Italian soccer players . It is subject to the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio and represents them internationally at U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at U-17 European and U-17 World Championships .
The team became European champions in 1982 . In addition, she was vice-European champion five times ( 1986 , 1993 , 1998 , 2013 and 2018 ). The 1987 title was stripped of her because Roberto Secci, a player who was not eligible to play, had been used.
Her greatest success at world championships was fourth place at the 1987 World Cup . In 2009 she reached the quarter-finals, in 2013 the second round.
