Kirchberg is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding and a member of the Steinkirchen administrative community .

geography

Kirchberg is in the Munich region, the small community is located in the hilly, wooded Erdinger Holzland about 14 km south of Moosburg an der Isar , 21 km from Landshut and Dorfen , 19 km from the district town of Erding and 24 km from Munich Airport. It is 56 km to the state capital Munich .

Only the Kirchberg district exists .

The 24 parts of the community are the parish villages Burgharting and Schröding , the church village Kirchberg, the villages Arndorf , Baustarring and Hammerlbach ; the hamlets Froschbach , Halberstätt , Hölding , Inholzen , Irlach , Itzling , Schelchenvils , Schleibing , Sinnering , Stockach , Thal and Ziegelberg and the desert areas of Adlkirchen , Aschbach , Giglberg , Lehenanger , Neulehen and Perzau .

history

Until the church is planted

Kirchberg was first mentioned on January 29, 818, when the Freising Bishop Hitto held a pontifical mass in the church of Cozoltesdorf . In the course of the late Middle Ages and the beginning of the modern era , the place name changed to Kirchberg. The town's church was donated to Obermünster Abbey in the 10th century, in which it remained until the 19th century. Kirchberg belonged to the district court of Erding in the Electorate of Bavaria . It was the seat of an executive committee .

From 1818

In 1818, with the Bavarian community edict, today's community came into being. Since 1978, Kirchberg has formed the Steinkirchen administrative community together with the communities of Hohenpolding, Inning am Holz and Steinkirchen.

Since 1972, the year of the municipal reform, the population has increased by 265 people until 2015. This corresponds to a growth of 36.20 percent. In the last ten (five) years the population increased by 11.02 (5.61) percent.

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 747 to 1,035 by 288 inhabitants or 38.6%.

The 780 inhabitants in 1978 were distributed among the following places: Baustarring 91, Schröding 85, Burgharting 74, Arndorf 66, Hammerlbach 63, Kirchberg 53, Irlbach 37, Inholzen 32 and Zieglberg 31.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Kirchberg was established on September 28, 1982: "In blue on the right a growing silver church tower with a golden onion dome, on the left a golden key and a fallen silver sword with a golden handle."

Architectural monuments

  • Parish church Sankt Vitus in Burgharting, late baroque construction by Anton Kogler completed in 1724.
  • Filial church St. Peter and Paul in Kirchberg, early Rococo building built in 1729 by Anton Kogler and Johann Baptist Lethner .
  • Parish church of St. Urban and Nikolaus in Schröding, late Gothic around 1450, nave and upper part of the tower redesigned in Baroque style by Anton Kogler around 1702/03, extended in the middle of the 20th century.
