Kladen is a village and part of the unified municipality and city of Arendsee (Altmark) in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark church village of Kläden is about four kilometers west of the town of Arendsee on the B 190 , which leads to Salzwedel , about 17 km away . The Klädten stop (near Arendsee / Altm) is on the Salzwedel – Geestgottberg railway line, which was closed in 2004 .

The districts of Kläden and Kraatz belong to the village of Kläden .

history

In 1283 the village of Kläden was first mentioned in a document as villa Clodene in a disputation between the margraves Otto, Albert and Otto with the Arendsee monastery . The margraves donated income from Kläden to the St. Thomas Altar of the monastery church. In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the place is listed as Cloden . The income was transferred to the St. Marien Church in Salzwedel.

The large stone grave Kladen was destroyed in the 19th century.

To the north of the village is a pit in which sand was extracted in the 20th century. In the south of the village at a fork in the road to Kraatz was a windmill . The area north of the village used to be called "Hechfeldsche Busch".

Incorporations

On April 1, 1939, the communities of Kläden and Kraatz from the district of Osterburg merged to form a community with the name of Kläden.

On July 25, 1952, the community of Kläden was reclassified from the Osterburg district to the Seehausen district . On July 2, 1965, it was reclassified to the Osterburg district .

On May 14, 2009, the local council of the municipality of Kläden decided by means of an area change agreement that the municipality of Kläden be incorporated into the town of Arendsee (Altmark). This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

After the previously independent municipality of Kläden was incorporated, Kläden and Kraatz became districts of the city of Arendsee (Altmark). The local constitution was introduced for the incorporated municipality in accordance with §§ 86 ff. Municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt . The incorporated municipality of Kläden and future districts of Kläden and Kraatz became the locality of the receiving city of Arendsee (Altmark). A local council with five members including the local mayor was formed in the incorporated municipality and now the village of Kläden.

Blazon : "In silver over three blue corrugated bars in the base of the shield, a torn green tree whose trunk forks into two main branches that enclose a wreath-like silver shield with a gold-armored and tongued red eagle."

The colors of the village are green and white.

The coat of arms was designed by the municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch and included in the approval process.

Sports

Kladen is one of the Altmark hiking nests that are organized in the Altmark hiking club.

Culture and sights

There is a Romanesque stone church from the 12th century in Kläden .

The Protestant church and parish Klaeden belong to the parish "Am Arendsee" in the parish area Arendsee the church district Stendal in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

In 1903 the parishes of Kläden and Kraatz belonged to the parish of Kläden near Arendsee. The church patronage lay with the Prussian king.
