history
Immediately south of today's settlement, on the other bank of the Uwelka, the village of Krasnoye has existed since 1832 (Nikolayevka until 1919, now Krasnosjolka). With the development of hard coal mining south of Jemanschelinsk from the end of 1945, a miners' settlement was created.
The first coal mine ( Krasnosjolski No. 7 ) started production in 1951; At the same time several shafts were sunk ( Krasnosjolskaja and Kulljarskaja ). The miners' settlement received the status of an urban-type settlement on December 15, 1952 under its current name ( krasno- for red - with ideological reference to the name of the nearby village, -gorski here with reference to mining, from gora for mountain ).
At first the settlement belonged to the Uwelski district . In 1962 it was subordinated to the administration of the city of Jemanschelinsk, and in 2006 to the Rajon of the same name, which was spun off again as part of the administrative reform in Russia.

Economy and Infrastructure
After the cessation of coal mining (most recently Kulljarskaja colliery in 1998), Krasnogorski mainly played a role as the center of an agricultural area. The largest pig fattening operation in the oblast is located here (built in 1971), a feed factory (opened in 1974) and various operations in the food industry.
A few kilometers southwest of the settlement is the station Krasnosjolka which opened on this section 1915 railway Chelyabinsk - Troitsk - Orsk (kilometer 53 from Poletajewo where they near Chelyabinsk from the south branch of the Trans-Siberian Railway branches).
To the east, Krasnogorski is bypassed by the M36 highway , which runs from Yekaterinburg via Chelyabinsk and Troitsk to the Kazakh border in the direction of Qostanai .
