Crime best list

The KrimiBestenliste (until December 2016: KrimiZEIT best list , until November 2010: KrimiWelt best list ) has been a joint project of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung since January 2017 (until November 2010: daily newspaper Die Welt , then the weekly newspaper Die Zeit ) and Deutschlandradio Kultur ( until December 2016: Nordwestradio ); until January 31, 2012 the TV broadcaster ARTE was another cooperation partner. A list of ten detective novels is compiled monthly by a jury of 19 literary critics and crime specialists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and presented to the media as a best crime list.

The KrimiZEIT best list or KrimiWelt best list has been published since April 2005. The following rules apply: “Once a month, each jury member names four current crime novels and rates them with 7, 5, 3 or 1 points. In addition to the total number of points per title, it takes into account how many critics have voted for the same book in a voting round. Each critic can vote a total of three times for the same book. Votes for books in whose production or commercial distribution the critic is involved are excluded. No distinction is made between crime novels in the original German language and translations. "

The SWR best list for general fiction was used as a model for determining the crime best list . The inventor and jury spokesman for the KrimiZEIT best list is the literary critic and crime specialist Tobias Gohlis .

Annual leaderboard

At the end of each year, the jury of the crime top list also creates an annual top list with ten crime novels. The next best crime novels of the year were:
