League Cup 1977/78
The 1977-78 Football League Cup was the 18th edition of the since 1960 existing League Cup .
The competition started on August 13, 1977 with the first round and ended with the replay in the final at Old Trafford on March 22, 1978. The winner of the competition was Nottingham Forest with a 1-0 in the decisive game against Liverpool FC . This was the first time that the first division promoted team secured the title in this competition.
