The men's 400-meter hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in 1966 was held from August 31 to September 2, 1966 in Budapest's Népstadion .
European champion was the Italian Roberto Frinolli . He won in front of the German Gerd Loßdörfer . The Frenchman Robert Poirier won the bronze medal.
