List of via ferratas in Carinthia

Below is an alphabetical list of via ferratas in the Austrian state of Carinthia . All climbs insured with steel ropes are listed, for which the use of a via ferrata set is recommended.

Cellon stollen	Kötschach-Mauthen , Hermagor district	The Cellonstollen is a supply route that was blown into the rock by Austrian troops during the First World War near the Italian border on the Plöckenpass . It is the only underground via ferrata in Carinthia and leads east of the Oberst-Gressel-Steig over around 110 meters in altitude to the Cellon shoulder. It is considered a less sporty approach to the path without borders , which leads to the summit of the Frischenkofel (Italian: Cellon).	B.

Fallbach	Malta , Spittal an der Drau district	One of the most demanding climbs in Austria. Runs east of the highest waterfall in Carinthia through the rock face and is the first in Austria to use the two-rope technique.	D / E
High chair	Feistritz im Rosental , Klagenfurt-Land district	Leads over the north ridge to the Hochstuhl , the highest mountain in the Karawanken , in the border area with Slovenia.	B / C
Kanzianiberg	Finkenstein , Villach-Land district	The path consists of several sections around the rock faces of the Kanzianiberg climbing garden and has no defined entry point. Climbing is done on well-secured boulders, rock walls, rope bridges and through mountain crevices.	B / C
Klabauter	Kötschach-Mauthen , Hermagor district	The climb leads through the Mauthner Klamm (closed after a child was killed on August 16, 2019 by a falling branch) and follows the Valentinbach upstream. Can also be used as an easy canyoning tour.	C.
Koban-Prunner	Kötschach-Mauthen , Hermagor district	The climb, which is not completely secured with ropes, was the first secured climb over the north side of the Hohe Warte . It leads from the foot of the wall to the summit and takes the path of the 26er , which as an alternative trail leads further east through the wall base.	B.

Column corner	Mallnitz , Spittal an der Drau district	Alpine climb over the south ridge to the summit of the Säuleck . For reasons of nature conservation, it was built in 2007 without stepping pins or clips.	D / E
Steinbergerweg	Kötschach-Mauthen , Hermagor district	The Steinbergerweg can be reached via the Oberst-Gressel-Steig or the Cellonstollen and leads northwest of the path without borders through the rockfall endangered east channel to the summit ridge of the Frischenkofel (Italian: Cellon). It is named after Simon Steinberger, who in June 1915 climbed the Cellon with a selected group via this route and forced the Italian crew to retreat to the western summit.	B / C

Way of the 26s	Kötschach-Mauthen , Hermagor district	The path that runs through the north wall of the Hohe Warte leads to the Koban-Prunner-Weg and is one of the most difficult in the Carnic Alps .	D / E
Walter Mory	Bleiburg , Völkermarkt district	Ascent in the Petzen massif , which ends near the mountain station of the Petzen cable car.	CD
Angle tower or Torre Clampil	Tröpolach, Hermagor district	The Vorberg Winkelturm / Torre Clampil is located on Nassfeld on the Italian border. A path leads to the summit plateau through the approximately 180 meter high north face (D / E) and one over the east ridge (C). The one through the north face is considered to be the most demanding in the Nassfeld area.	C or D / E
