The studio building of the sculptor Edmund Moeller seems to be influenced by Italian villas and country houses. The building, which was built in the twenties, is a cultural monument due to its idiosyncratic and for the time rather untypical shape (rarity). In addition, with the associated sculptures in the garden, it is reminiscent of a Dresden sculptor who was particularly active in the period before 1930 (worth remembering). Most of the sculptures are by Edmund Moeller: Bent, Shot Putter (1926), Bach (1931), Mother Love (1920), Footballer (1922), Echo (1919), Two Comrades and Family. The sculptures Liberation and Beethoven are also in the garden. The works Stuhl by Rudolf Sitte (1996) and Folding by Friedrich Kracht (2006) were only created after the fall of the Wall . |
