Lyudmila Ilyinichna Maslakova

Lyudmila Ilyinichna Maslakova ( Russian Людмила Ильинична Маслакова , English transcription Lyudmila Maslakova, née Жаркова - Scharkowa - Zharkova ; born February 26, 1952 in Astrakhan ) is a former Soviet sprinter .

Her greatest individual successes are the university world championship title over 100 m in 1975 and the bronze medal over the same distance at the European Athletics Championships in Prague in 1978 . At the Olympic Games she reached the quarter-finals over 100 m in 1968 in Mexico City and in 1972 in Munich and 1976 in Montreal in the semi-finals. Over 200 m she reached the quarter-finals in 1976 and the semi-finals in Moscow in 1980 .

As part of the Soviet team in the 4 x 100 meter relay , you achieved medal successes over a period of twelve years. In 1968 in Mexico City she won an Olympic bronze, and in 1971 another bronze medal followed at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki . A fifth place at the 1972 Olympic Games was followed by bronze at the 1976 Olympic Games, gold at the 1978 European Championship and silver at the 1980 Olympic Games.

She was three times Soviet champion over 100 m (1975-1977) and twice over 200 m (1978, 1980).
