Loschwitz / Wachwitz is a statistical district in the Dresden district of Loschwitz . It is located east of the city center on the Neustadt side of the Elbe.

location

The statistical district Loschwitz / Wachwitz is in the northeast of Bühlau / Weißer Hirsch , in the east of Gönnsdorf / Pappritz , in the southeast of Hosterwitz / Pillnitz , in the south of Laubegast , in the southwest of Tolkewitz / Seidnitz-Nord and Blasewitz and finally in the northwest of the Radeberger suburb surrounded. To the north is the Albertpark belonging to the Neustadt district .

The boundaries of the district are formed by the edge of the Dresdner Heide , the Dresden Elbe slopes for example on the line Kuckuckssteig – Ulrichstraße – Weinleite– Mordgrundbrücke , the outer city limits valid until 1999, the Elbe and sections of Brockhausstraße and Bautzner Straße . Loschwitz / Wachwitz is largely located in the Elbe valley , but extends up the slopes of the Elbe to the edge of the Schönfeld highlands .

The statistical district includes the entire district of Wachwitz and, apart from a few parts in the northeast and northwest, also the district of Loschwitz . It is divided into the following four statistical districts :

• 411 Loschwitz (Schevenstrasse)
• 412 Loschwitz (Körnerplatz)
• 413 Oberloschwitz
• 414 Wachwitz

The most important streets in the district are Pillnitzer Landstrasse and Grundstrasse ( Staatsstrasse 167), Bautzner Strasse , on which Bundesstrasse 6 and tram line 11 run, and Schillerstrasse . In Loschwitz / Wachwitz there are also several city bus and intercity bus routes . Loschwitz / Wachwitz has a total of 2 tram and 20 bus stops. It is also the starting point of the two Dresden mountain railways  - while the Dresden suspension railway also has its mountain station in the district area, the Dresden funicular railway leads to Bühlau / Weißer Hirsch.
