Prohlis is a district of Dresden in the city district of the same name , is located in the southeast of the city on the Geberbach and is usually equated with the prefabricated building area ( new building area Dresden-Prohlis ). The new development area Prohlis extends to Altreick . The Prohliser district extends from the Hülße-Gymnasium to almost the Gamighübel in Kauscha . The Vögelsiedlung (Zeisigweg, Finkenweg, Sperlingsweg, etc.) up to Tornaer Straße also belongs to the Prohliser Flur . The Palitzsch Museum and a branch of the Dresden Art School are located in the only preserved courtyard in the old village center .

history

Before 1288

In Neolithic is settled line Linear Pottery and developed into Stroked ceramists . The Prohliser settlement in particular is an example of the seamless transition. The circular moats in neighboring Nickern belong to the same culture. The Prohlis depot dates from the Bronze Age . The settlement form of the village center was a Sorbian Rundling .

Altprohlis

Palitzschhof - today's name in honor of the peasant astronomer, formerly Altprohlis 3

The place was first mentioned as Prolos in 1288 .

The theologian Andreas Proles (1429–1503) has Prohlis roots. In the 18th century, the farmer and polymath Johann George Palitzsch lived in Prohlis , who became famous for the discovery of Halley's comet . Until 1839 Prohlis was not a separate municipality, but some farms belonged to the Dresden Bridge Office, some to the Maternihospital and others to the Leubnitz Office.

“On March 9, 1839, the following people met in the upper room of the Hünichen court: Its owner, Johann Christian Hünichen, farmer and local judge, and the Dresden city judge Julius Schneider, as well as another 18 people, farmers and housekeepers ... The occasion for the meeting was accordingly the ordinance of November 7th, 1838 to elect the municipal council ... Here fate was once gracious to the Prohlisers. Because the church planting took place in the building that belongs to the only courtyard that still exists today ... "

In the Battle of Dresden on August 27, 1813, fighting also took place near Prohlis. In the years 1887-88, the family settled cape sir the Prohlis castle in the style of Neo-Renaissance building. On June 1, 1921, the village was incorporated into Dresden. After the Second World War , a state-owned estate was established in Prohlis .

Clay pits

From the end of the 19th century until the 1970s there were several brick and clay pits on Dohnaer Strasse ; the former Kunath brickworks is now the Prohlis environmental center and the clay pit of the Gottschalch brickworks is the Prohlis outdoor swimming pool. In the 1960s, children also came to a holiday camp there to relax .

Parish

Geberbach, bell tower and church with retirement home in the background

Since 1674, Prohlis belonged to the parish of Leubnitz . From 1932 to 1939, pastor Johann Schmidt used the former village school, 1939–1947 the bowling alley of the Prohlis Inn, from 1947 to 1977 Prohlis Castle and until 1982 the “Coventry” Inn and a 5-room apartment. 1980–1982, as part of the “New Churches for New Cities” program, the first church was built in a newly built area in the GDR. The independent Ev.-Luth has existed since 1978 . Parish of Dresden-Prohlis .

New proles

In the originally rural Prohlis, around 10,000 new apartments were created in six, ten and seventeen-story prefabricated buildings between 1976 and 1980. The residential complex was built under the urban planning direction of the architects Heinz Michalk , Konrad Lässig and Udo Fehrmann as well as the complex architects Gerhard Landgraf and Ingeborg Lampadius . The residential buildings extend over the new development area between Dohnaer and Niedersedlitzer Strasse, whereby the landscape has been taken into account. These were the castle park, a former gravel pit used as a residential park, the Geberbach and the outdoor pool. The center was a 700 m long pedestrian zone to the side of Prohliser Allee. In October 1976 the first prefabricated apartment buildings were moved into at Trattendorfer Strasse 2-10 and the first school "118th POS" was opened.

Since 1990

Division of the Prohlis district into two statistical districts

After reunification , the new buildings were modernized or partially demolished, with the “star houses” standing on the corridor of Niedersedlitz . Since 1994, Prohlis has been integrated into the federal, state and state redevelopment program for the further development of large new building areas . A district management has existed since 2000 within the framework of the federal-state program Socially Integrative City - districts with special development needs .

    • prilu = place in the valley, in the floodplain, "where the Geberbach ... could easily be dammed up to the pond", according to Dubbers 2012, p. 6, see in this regard. Reick - should come from ryc (trench)
