Lusa ( Russian Луза ) is a city in Kirov Oblast ( Russia ) with 11,260 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The city is located about 300 km northwest of the Oblast capital Kirov on the Lusa , a right tributary of the source river Jug of the Northern Dvina .

Lusa is the administrative center of the raion of the same name .

history

Lusa was built on the site of a settlement known since the 17th century as a station settlement during the construction of the railway line Vyatka - Kotlas in 1899 and received city rights in 1944.
